A downloadable game for Windows

SPEARPOINT is a solo-developed old-school military FPS inspired by the tactical shooters of the late 90s and early 2000s. It features an authentic arsenal of late Cold War-era weapons rendered in full low-poly glory, along with a range of missions taking place all around the globe.

My goal with this game is to provide a streamlined experience: narrow in scope, but fun and approachable. Its pacing sits somewhere between the tacticool milsims of today and the highly frenetic boomer/twitch shooters.

Among the influences for SPEARPOINT are older shooters such as Delta Force, Operation Flashpoint, Project IGI, and to a lesser extent Counter-Strike 1.6. If you enjoyed those titles back in the day and crave a "return to tradition", give the DEMO a try!

This release is an EARLY DEMO. It includes 3 missions and 4 weapons.

Core gunplay and mission flow are fully developed, but some other features are still a work in progress. Here's a list of upcoming features, ordered by priority:

  • Customizable loadout
  • More weapons (M60, M249 SAW, G11)
  • Better AI (more reactive behavior and improved animations)
  • More maps and missions

I'm eager to hear your feedback, especially concerning overall game feel and mission difficulty. I plan to keep the DEMO updated with changes and tweaks as your suggestions come in.

Unpack the archive and run the .exe

Game might stutter on first load due to Godot's shader compilation.  Give it a second to let it work. : )

I had a few crashes when trying to start the game, maybe because i pressed enter during the loading screen. But entertaining game when i could get it to start

Huh. it might be initial load/shader compile that's causing it. Did the game crash to desktop or just hang? Did the start-up crashes eventually stop? I'll look deeper into it and find a fix.

Thanks for trying it out by the way.  I really appreciate it.

It just hanged with the usual "game is not responding" message eventually appearing. I am using windows 10 which might be the problem but i doubt it.

Now that i tried it again it doesn't really want to cooperate. Quite odd

Well I'm on Windows 10 too so you should be fine there. I'll try to change the way the initial load happens on future versions so it's smoother on all systems.

Appreciate the feedback and help with testing.
